Why we built Auditley

The problem

Eoin has spent five years working in governance, risk, and compliance, running SOC 2 and ISO 27001 projects across a range of industries. Over time, a pattern became impossible to ignore: every tool built to help companies prepare for SOC 2 was built by engineers who had never sat across the table from an auditor. The guidance was generic. The pricing was built for companies ten times the size of the ones actually struggling with their first audit. And the companies most underserved, particularly those running on-premise or hybrid infrastructure, were left piecing together templates and spreadsheets on their own.

The build

Eoin and his friend Pascual, an engineer, came together and built it into a working platform. The goal was specific: build something that gives a first-time SOC 2 company the structure and guidance of an expensive enterprise tool, at a price an early-stage startup can actually justify, without pretending the AI can replace good judgement or a real auditor.

Who this is for

Auditley is built for those who have just been asked for SOC 2 by their first enterprise customer and have no idea where to start. It is built for the team that has been quoted thousands of dollars by the bigger platforms and knows there has to be a better way. And it is built with particular care for companies running on-premise or hybrid infrastructure, who are consistently underserved by cloud-first compliance tools.

What we believe

Compliance software should make you genuinely more prepared, not just more organised. Every piece of guidance in Auditley is written by someone who has actually reviewed evidence, sat in audit meetings, and knows what gets pushed back on. The AI inside the product is built on top of that experience, not as a replacement for it. We are building Auditley in the open, with early customers shaping what comes next.
